    "Initially your service rep blamed me for the small amount of water in the back of my car and my malfunctioning mirrors because I had used a high-pressure wand at the car wash several weeks before. I guess I shouldn't be washing my car? I was sternly warned when I dropped it off that this was a courtesy fix and that it wouldn't be covered in the future. When I arrived to pick up my car after the service was completed, after a snowstorm (this snowstorm is when the mirrors started going haywire), I noticed that you had a professional service (third party) washing all the MINI vehicles in the lot with a high-pressure wand. That made me think you were just grasping at straws to blame the malfunctioning mirrors on something I did. When I pointed this out, I was told that the problem was actually that I must have opened the back trunk compartment, a latch I have NEVER opened, and water got inside. (I never even knew this latch existed--so how could I have opened it?) Again, I felt you were trying to blame me for something that was a defect with the vehicle. When I questioned whether or not the rear wheel cover that was missing a clip could be letting in water from all our recent snow storms, I was told the body was sealed and this wasn't possible. In the end, I appreciated you fixing my car under warranty, but I didn't appreciate being blamed--two different ways and times--for the issue. On a positive note, I did appreciate having the rental car available to me since it took you the better part of the week to get the part in and fix the vehicle.     "Upon picking the car up we had to ask some one to listen to the noise that no one tried hard enough to listen to. A mechanic then got in the car with me and heard it immediately. The fan needed to be replaced. Had to leave the car again, not only inconvenient, I live very far, but so unnecessary! Only then was it brought to my attention that loaners are available.     "It feels unacceptable that I make a reservation to have the oil changed at 9:30 and am still there three hours later. I sat in the waiting room the whole time and believe it or not this was the quickest service we have had. Previously we have borrowed a car while having an oil change and it has taken up to SEVEN hours for this service. Not cool! However, after examining the vehicle following our last service, we discovered the cap and cover to the brake fluid reservoir were lying loose inside the engine compartment. The bleed valve was still attached to the reservoir. We removed the valve and replaced the cap and cover which were fortunately still lying inside the engine compartment.     "I was told on the phone my yearly service would be at most 1 hr. I confirmed this several times on the phone. When I arrived (planning to wait for the service to be done and having made plans for 2 hrs later) I was told by service that the appt might take 2-3 hrs; not 1 hr. And that I should never have been told it would only be 1 hr. Turns out the car was finished in 45 minutes..a most pleasant surprise.     "Twice now my service counter has told me I needed service, but twice now it has been due to the brake pad sensor 'falsely' claiming I needed brake service when I didn't. Of course, I didn't realize I didn't need service until I drive the 30+ miles to the dealer and have them check the codes, only to be told that nothing really needed to be done. Hours later, and a morning off from work, my service counter is reset to 1200 miles. So I'll get to come in again in under a month for hopefully a real service issue...? Now they have competition up north. It would be mildly inconvenient to go to the other place and I have thought about it, and have even called to compare service prices. That being said, I always go back to Schomp. The people always go out of their way to accommodate us persnickety owners.
